Advantages: Size, durablity
Disadvantages: Operating system - processor speed clash!
Now my sister got this notebook from school. As it is aimed at the business and education markets, I would say it should also be aimed at me a uni student. I've never really liked laptops in general however I used this one quite often because I realised the convince of have a portable computer !
The size is the first thing good about the notebook, although its tiny the keyboard is almost full size. The larger battery pack for it however is oddly shaped which significantly adds to the size and its ability to fit in small bags etc. (Although you can purchase a smaller battery which streamlines with the notebook). The shape of the larger one tilts the laptop which I found caused less strain when typing.
As I assume people who use notebooks will be internet surfing and word processing then I would say it is fit for purpose, however if you want a more multi-functioning laptop, this is perhaps not the one to go for. It connects to wireless internet straight away wherever I go, and has not even frozen on my once in the past year 7 months!. However it is very slow to load and internet surfing even with a fast internet connection can be slow, especially when watching videos etc.
Now another thing which may seem obvious is the screen size. Reading on this thing can really strain your eyes, even mine which are used to reading small print books at night with barely any light (do not do that btw lol). Due to the glossy thick plastic on the screen it is also almost impossible to read in direct or even indirect sunlight. This was one of the main drawbacks to the design.
However apart from this I love the design its really durable and although I wouldn't recommend trying this, dropping it on the floor several time has not caused any problems, which I think is down to its aluminium shell (that looks and feels really good), and its plexiglass finish on the screen.
The worst thing about this notebook is its speed. It is always running slow for the first day we had it. Doing basic word document is fine but add anything else to the equation.... And its slow motion
I would say however I may be biased as the notebook was fitted with Windows Vista business even though the processor is tiny and Vista runs slowly even on my home PC !..
I would definitely say this is a decent notebook (as aposed to a laptop) but do not run Vista Business on it whatever you do!
If you want something small and durable then go for it, run xp or windows 7.
Summary: Decent notebook.
