HP 2133 Mini-Note
Advantages: Brushed Aluminium, built-in Bluetooth and WiFi
Disadvantages: Screen doesn't tilt back far enough, Battery life - Satisfactory
I bought this laptop as a present for my girlfriend last Christmas.
She is a student in 6th form and I thought it'd be ideal for her to use in class to take notes or simply to browse the internet when at home and maybe do a bit of work on.
The build quality of the laptop is great, I especially like the fact that a lot of it is brushed aluminium which makes it very sturdy. It however also makes it very cold if sat on your lap when you first start it up.
The laptop came with a rubbish Linux operating system which I guess maybe okay for browsing, but Windows is Windows and so the first thing I did was install XP SP3. This did make the laptop seem slightly slower, however it is millions of times faster than Acer's solid state HDD netbooks.
The laptop is great for browsing and typing a few notes, however one major design flaw is that the rotation angle of the screen hinge is limited to the extent that the screen is not perpendicular to the users face which results in a lot on bending over to peer at the screen. Also, the screen is very small however this can be forgiven seen as it is a netbook, but is something which must be considered, especially as the laptop has the same screen resolution as many 15.4" laptops.
Summary: Good netbook as long as you don't stray too far from a power outlet
