Very good - just don't expect too much

Advantages: Portability, screen quality, hard drive size
Disadvantages: Quite poor battery life when you want faster performance
Ultimately these netbooks are made for emails, word processing and surfing the web. The N140 can carry out these functions perfectly and you can comfortably watch videos on it too. Obviously, however, when you consider the graphics card and processor, powerful games and excessive multi-tasking are not possible.
Having said that, I have been impressed with the speed of this device. It really does pack quite a punch considering its size. I opted to upgrade the RAM from 1gb to 2gb too, and this helps boot-time and makes it easier to have a few more program's on the go at once.
The 10.1 inch screen is fine, has great brightness and I have had very few problems with glare. The keyboard is fairly solid and the mouse touchpad is responsive. If typing for a while, however, you may need an external keyboard as it can be uncomfortable to use for long periods of time.
Like the previous reviewer said, I can get around 8 hours of battery life from one charge on the middle power setting. If you want more it is possible to switch to 'Samsung Optimised' but this impacts considerably on speed and makes the netbook too slow for my needs.
To conclude, considering the spec (1.6ghz processor, 2gb ram, 250gb hard drive) the Samsung N140 is reasonably good value at £220 and can do basic jobs pretty well.
Summary: A decent netbook with a good spec suited to basic PC tasks and watching videos
