Advantages: small in a good way, compact, quick
Disadvantages: Sometime mousepad plays up
The Samsung NC10 is a fine netbook, it came out when basically every 10 inch netbook was the same, the 1GB RAM (easily upgradable), the same Atom processor and the same resolution and slightly different keyboards and battery life, although nothing significantly different.
At the time however there was an air of style and just something about it that a lot of the other netbooks just didn't have. Boot time is pretty quick and windows XP with a few adjustments runs really well. The keyboard is actually better than most other netbooks from the time but has been beaten by many of the more recent ones with an apple style keyboard. The screen size is not an issue with these netbooks as they are actually much more spacious once you get used to them, especially if you use google chrome (slightly less screen usage than IE) and set the taskbar to auto hide etc. The mouse-pad is good and very responsive however every so often the mouse does have an error and updating drivers and everything doesn't seem to have stopped this from occurring, luckily I know it is simple to get out of this by ctrl, shift, esc and closing the error message but when it happened to my sister she had to reboot as she didn't know what to do.
If you use the netbook as intended then the apparently small by today standards 80gb harddrive is actually more than spacious enough to hold all your programs and even your music collection (if it's as small as mine).
If you want something light and portable then any of the ten inch netbooks are in my opinion a great choice they are light enough to carry around all day and have a battery life to match but at the same time they also are easy to type long documents on (unlike the 9 inch models which I find too small for my chubby hands) and also easy to surf the net and quiet enough to use in large lecture halls without annoying everyone around you, well except that they might be jealous.
Overall I really like this device and feel that anyone wanting a cheap netbook with windows XP would be foolish to at least not check this product out.
Summary: Great netbook with very few issues
