Advantages: Good quality and sharper letters and images

Disadvantages: Price but the quality does make up for extra quid or two

Being a university student, printing is something I have to do pretty much on a daily basis; whether it is to print lecture notes, assignments or articles. I have a Kodak inkjet printer while my friend usually uses her laser printer, but we share the printing job. I used to be able to print any thing I want for free until college, so I never realised how much the costs add up over time. However, this is one area where I need to find a balance between cost and quality. I have used value papers for printing before and, from my experience, the quality was pretty poor and almost impossible to distinguish small words if I'm printing bad quality diagrams and articles.

Therefore, I started looking for good quality paper and I saw this HP Office A4 paper for a little over £3.00 at Staples. Since I was really getting tired of bad quality images and texts, I decided to pay £2.00 or more extra and see if there's any significant difference. Fortunately, I didn't waste extra quids for nothing. A pack of HP Office paper contains 500 sheets as usual, and each sheet has the weight of 80 gsm, which is of relatively good quality and is suitable for a variety of things.

The difference is mostly apparent when I'm printing diagrams, pictures and articles. My degree involves a great deal of researching and analysing articles, and bad quality images put a lot of strains on my eyes. Since I've started using good quality paper, it slightly makes reading pages after pages of articles written in small fonts more bearable. The images and diagrams are a lot sharper and the ink is less diffused; it's analogous to watching a normal digital TV and then switching to a HD view. The difference is subtle but it packs a punch.

I've been using this HP Office paper whenever I can purchase pack(s) of them for a reasonable price. I'm not really loyal to the brand but HP Office papers do offer good quality so more often than not, I would purchase this brand if there's no much difference in the price. HP also manufactures quality paper in different sizes but I have not used them before; but they are available to suit different occasions.

All in all, I would have to say these HP Office papers are of reliable and good quality. A pack of HP office paper would usually last me about a month of frequent printing, but this is still a lot cheaper than printing at university. I would recommend this product.

Thank you for reading. :) x
