HP Office Paper
by JohnJoeSmith Chances are if that you've been alive in the last ten years then you've used a home printer. The same chance applies that you've tried to print something off said printer on cheap paper and ended up with a blurred mess. Not exactly the most professional looking CV and doesn't give the most appropriate first impression when applying for ... jobs! Modern inkjet printers are capable of creating very sharp images and borders, admittedly not up to scratch with laser or professional equipment but close enough for day to day use. One of the biggest limiting factors in the typical household is the paper used to print on. 500 pages can be picked up for close to one pound in Tesco or other high street retailers. These sheets are fine if the finished quality of your work is unimportant, e.g. notes for college or school, but fail quickly when trying to impress people with a CV or important letter. Enter HP Office paper. Okay, it's not Conqueror standard and won't suddenly get you a promotion in work but it's a start. Paper weight is roughly proportional to quality in most cases. Bargain basement products available in stationary shops weighs in between 50-70gram per square metre (gsm) all the way up to Conqueror at 100gsm. HP Office is 80gsm, a healthy medium between the two, leaving you with a page about the same weight as a letter you'd receive from your bank. While the weight is related to quality the finished surface of the HP paper is much less porous than that of bargain alternatives. This stops ink from your printer from soaking away in the paper, blurring the image. Instead you get a much sharper finish (hopefully). I've ran 2 reams of this paper through my Epson SX620 and haven't had a single jam or printer error. Now I have also ran a ream of tesco value paper in the same timeframe and that hasn't caused a problem either so take from my experience what you will. I have noticed a sharper finish and less "wetness" on the pages with the HP paper though. Where this paper falls down unfortunately is the price; Amazon is selling a 500 page ream for roughly £7, a big ask when Tesco have 500 pages for a quid! Luckily I bought mine when I bought my printer and was given a deal in the shop, buying 2500 pages for 15 pounds. Still more expensive than the Tesco version but the added quality and finish more than make up for it. All in all this is a great product and is from a reputable company with a long history of producing paper and printers. 5 Stars! Read the complete review |

HP Office Paper
by k2705 We go through quite a lot of printer/office paper in out house, both Mark and myself are doing home courses and we also get through a lot when we have our niece and nephew round who love to draw. I usually use Tesco value paper for my printer at home but recently we have been using HP office paper. I order all the stationary at work so I ... took advantage of staff discount and added a pack on. to buy myself, I only paid what the firm pays but to buy this its approximately £5.00 for a pack of 500 A4 sheets. Tesco Value paper is roughly half this price for a same size pack of A4 paper. The paper comes in just a blue and white paper wrapper and is white in colour, HP office paper is suitable for most printers, fax machines and copiers. Its claimed to be designed to keep printers clean by removing "microscopic dust particles". I wouldn't know if this actually happens but we don't have many paper jams or printer problems at work. The paper itself is a nice clean white colour and certainly looks better quality than the cheaper value paper, it feels nice too, its thicker. When I opened my packet I found all the paper was in excellent condition with no folds or flaws running through them, another problem I have encountered in the past with cheap paper. Both Mark and myself have used a lot of this paper for our courses recently and although I know what its like because I use it at work Mark did comment and say how nice it was to use a good quality paper rather than, and I quote" the tracing paper we usually buy!" All the printing we have done whether it be print diagrams or graphs has come out beautifully. Everything is clear and sharp and really does have a more professional look to it. I know this doesn't improve the quality of the work but it did all look nicely presented. I would also recommend this HP office paper for charity projects, another thing I have done through work, once again it gives the leaflet or flier a much professional look and feel to it. I will continue to buy this paper for mine and marks course work and any other letters we send in the future rather than the value paper, although this is ideal for children to draw on and play with, the HP office paper definitely puts a more professional gloss on your printing and improves the whole appearance of it. It may be double the price but the quality far outweighs any extra expense. Read the complete review |

HP Office Paper
by sympatic This was the printer paper that was used in the office where I did my last spell of temping so funny enough it is also the paper that we now use at home for our printing needs. The job was awfukl and the manager a total pervert so helping myself to a block of paper was not honest but I felt that I had earned it given that I had to suffer ... his letching stares and bad breath. Amazon has it priced at £25.10 for 2,500 sheets but I guess that is aimed at the self employed as that would be a lifetime supply for us. We have an inkjet printer at home and it can also be used with other types of printer as well. I have been impressed with the fact that the paper is nice and thick and as such I have not had any problems with printer jams at all. I use it mainly for the printing of letters and other word documents and the print quality is excellent, certainly the paper is good enough quality to use for job applications and sending out my resume and portfolio. I do not use it for photo printing however it was used to produce some posters and flyers for a local event and the quality of the images was acceptable without being great. It weighs 80gsm which is a bit heavier than the cheaper brands and this does help with the overall quality. All the sheets area consistent match for each other. We have used about a fifth of the 500 sheet box and I certainly cannot complain about the print quality, obviously paper quality is a small part of this as it is the quality of the actual printer that counts but this is a versatile general use brand of printer paper and one that I would recommend.
