The 66 MHz, 64-bit PCI host interface adapter features Agilent Technologies' Tachyon chip combined with Adaptec drivers and SAN (Storage Area Network) management software. The 9110G delivers data transfer rates up to 1 Gigabit per second and 2 Gb/sec (full duplex). It provides an internal copper connection, and with a GBIC (Gigabit Interface Converter) it offers the flexibility of copper or optical external connections.

The introduction of the Fiber Card 9110G leverages Adaptec's extensive testing and support infrastructure, and is Adaptec's first step in bringing the benefits of SANs to a broader customer base. Adaptec's expertise in storage networking technology and its ability to support and test these products make Adaptec a potent force in the Fiber Channel market and a strategic supplier of Fiber Channel components.
