The EiconCard P92 for Windows NT is a member of Eicon Technology's P-Class family of hardware adapters ideal for leased line connectivity over PPP and Frame Relay. The EiconCard P92 for Windows NT is targeted for branch office LAN application servers, when low latency coupled with high frame forwarding capability is required. It offers two Very High Speed Interface (VHSI) ports supporting line speeds of up to 5Mbps. Its "smart cable interface" automatically detects the cable in use (V.24, V.35, X.21, V.36/RS-449, EIA-530). The EiconCard P92 for Windows NT performs low-level framing while protocol stack processing (PPP and Frame Relay) is performed on the PC.
