The hardware portion of the TigerArray2 package consists of a dual-channel EtherPower 10/100 PCI card. This network card array combines the functionality of two separate cards, yet it occupies only one server slot. It also features Auto-Negotiation for automatic selection of the highest data rate and operating mode supported by your network. But, the real key to the benefits of this package is the TigerArray load balancing driver software. This intermediate NT driver combines both channels into a single ''virtual'' card. The software then balances the entire load across both channels, effectively doubling the band-width of the server's network connection. In addition, the TigerArray software provides fault tolerance with dynamic failover across both channels in the array. If one of the channels fails, the TigerArray software will automatically detect it, partition that port and dynamically rebalance the load across the other channel. If that channel comes back on line, the software will then automatically reactivate it and rebalance the load again.
