The HP SureStore CD-ROM Server/Towers connect directly as nodes on an Ethernet network; they are file-server independent. Installation does not require client or server software. A network connection is the only requirement prior to using the CD-ROM server. The server/tower acts as a network file server; network client communicates directly with it using standard network operating system commands. The HP SureStore CD-ROM Server/Towers are multi-protocol devices. They are able to simultaneously support various network operating environments. New network operating systems are supportable by downloading new firmware to Flash memory.
