Tandberg Storagecab 6ST-NAS 438 GB ... environments. These storage solutions are integrated as a Network Attached Storage (NAS) system into the topology of an existing network.

The Linux-based Tandberg StorageCab ServerV operating system, which is installed on the StorageCab systems, operates and manages the JBOD, JBOD/Tape devices and the 10/100Mbit Ethernet-interface. The ServerV NAS operating system configures the hard disk array in a predetermined RAID-level, whereby the operational reliability and availability of the data is guaranteed.

The combination of a tape drive and NAS solution within the same enclosure provides integrated data storage and high availability of data. Through this, the basic storage capacity of the 219 GB version of the StorageCab 6ST system can be protected and stored by the Tandberg SDLT320, which has a storage capacity of up to 320 GB.

The StorageCab NAS-solution contains hot swappable hard disks. 6ST-NAS is equipped with redundant and hot swappable power supplies and fans. A faulty component can be taken out during operation and is replaceable by a new one.

By using a RAID array, the RAID controller reconstructs the hard disk, if one hard disk is damaged. A running down of the system is not necessary. All data and achievements are available for the user during the reconstruction.

The robust mechanical design and the high-quality components contribute to the operating reliability as well as the monitoring of the individual components and the internal operating temperature.
