I bought the 2TB version of this NAS as a way of storing all of my digital media and backing up important files, with the ability to access any of the files from our various laptops, Mac and PS3.
The design is thin and sleek, and stylish at first, but after a while the white light down the front becomes annoying to the point I have now hidden the unit so it doesn't interupt the viewing experience when watching movies in the dark.
Networking to the device was pretty simple, although often the mac has trouble mounting the drive (I'm not sure if this is a problem with the mac or the NAS). Mounts to the laptops and PS3 without any trouble
Playback of movies and music via ethernet cables and the router is great, wirelessly I wouldn't recommend this without good internet speeds (we only get 6MB download speed).
The main problem I have had with this NAS is the split between the storage capacity of the Public Drive and the Private Drive, split at 1TB each. I would much prefer to have all 2TB as a Public Drive that the PS3 could pick up as I use this as my media centre.
