Up to four SuperStack II Switch 1100 or Switch 3300 units can communicate directly with one another using a unique stacking matrix. This powerful option allows the entire stack to share a single ATM expansion module. As such, the ATM downlink can be amortized across all of the Ethernet ports in the stack, effectively lowering its price per port. Installing multiple ATM expansion modules in the stack enables hot-standby redundancy and ensures availability in case the primary downlink is severed. Load sharing will be enabled across multiple ATM ports via a software update. More 3Com network devices
