Allied Telesyn AT MC1001Most Gigabit devices are used primarily as the core of network infrastructure. Therefore reliability of this equipment is mission critical, and designing networks with built-in resilience is important. The AT-MC1001 Gigabit media converters support the MissingLink feature, allowing managed switches to automatically determine if a break in the fiber cable has occurred. This allows the switch to re-route traffic and maintain network operation. Each small media converter is powered by an external power supply unit for use in standalone applications. Where multiple media converters are used, up to 12 standalone devices can be inserted into a low-cost rack mount chassis, allowing all the converters to be powered by a single internal power sup-ply. In critical applications, a second load sharing internal power supply can be installed into the rack-mount chassis. |
