      Belkin Easy Transfer Cable For Windows 7

      As I bought a new computer a few months ago I wasn't looking forward to losing all my old files, settings, emails and even contacts. Everything was on my old computer and as I know how to transfer files and everything on a memory stick, what do you do with your emails and contacts? I did some research and came across this Belkin Easy Transfer Cable For Windows 7.

      You can buy the Belkin Easy Transfer Cable For Windows 7 for around 15 pounds, which I thought was quiet a lot for just a cable. But since I wanted to make sure I could use my new computer proper I decided to buy it. The cable transfers: user accounts, Windows settings, files and folders, pictures and photos, MP3s and other music, videos, program settings and program data, and e-mail messages, settings, and contacts will all be transferred over to your new computer without a fuss.

      It's a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed cable which provides transfer speeds of up to 480Mbps and is fully backward compatible with USB 1.1. LEDs on the cable lets you quickly know that the transfers have begun. You get a CD-ROM which you simply put in your computer, follow a few instructions and then you can insert the cable and the transferring begins!

      What is very handy is that after the transfer the program generates a report which shows you everything that was transferred. It actually also shows you a list of all the programs and applications that weren't transferred from the old computer with links to get the latest versions of the programs. This has to do with incompatibility issues between the old windows and the new windows.

      I have to say I thought using this cable everything was very easy and went quick. I'm glad that I bought this cable since my new computer runs perfect with all my files and programs. I still believe spending 15 pounds was a bit much but I would do it all over again. Four stars.

      I could not have done it without it

      When buying a new computer with Windows 7 and you need to transfer a large amount of data from your old one, then this is a much needed purchase. I had over 50GB of music, photos and films to transfer and was told that I needed a high speed cable such as this to make the transfer. I was a little begrudging about spending £15.00 on a lead that I would probably use only a handful of times, but after using it I was quite glad i had bought it. The transfers were made simple and for my 50GB of data it took just short of an hour which I think is really impressive!

      ==Price and availability==

      The lead cost me £17.00 from PC World.

      ==Using the lead==

      There is a disc in the pack that needs loading onto your old computer, this is compatible with Windows vista, windows xp or windows 7. The disc loads and offers instructions for you to follow and tells you when to insert the cable. It is really easy to use and depending how much data you are transferring, depends on how quick the process will be.

      I experienced no problems with the lead and it worked perfectly making the whole process really simple. I was dreading the task of transferring data and had no idea where to begin or what to do! This lead is definitely worth the money for how quick and easy the process was made to be.

      I had various documents along with music files and videos that I needed to transfer. The ones I wanted to get rid of I deleted and the ones I wanted to keep are now on my new machine.
      This lead is fully recommended and I am pleased with my purchase. It may be expensive but it worth it. now I have transferred my data I am considering selling my lead on eBay as you can get around £5.00 for a used one. Perhaps if you want one you could look on here as any lead will be hardly used.

        A price worth paying for all the hassle and faffing involved in manual file transfer.

        Upon landing on this review you could possibly be forgiven for thinking this just another USB data transfer cable - you would be partially correct. The key asset of the Belkin Easy Transfer Cable for Windows 7 is its high-speed USB data transfer capabilities. Designed for those who wish to migrate large volumes of data (video's, files, photos etc.) to a new Windows 7 enabled PC or laptop, this product will carry out such a task with consumate ease.

        Bog standard USB-USB cables are not designed in such a way as to transfer heavy volumes of data, whereas this cable excels in carrying out such a task. The cable is easily connected to USB ports in both the origin device and the destination device, using the high-speed USB cable the transfer can be processed quickly and efficiently. Compatible with Windows XP and Vista this Belkin Easy Trasfer Cable will tackle the vast majority of tasks created by new laptop/PC purchases carrying Windows 7.

        The package contains a CD which you load onto your old computer, you then follow the simple instructions to migrate all your files. The process is much, much simpler than having to transfer data by burning data onto disc or USB sticks!

        The price of around £15 from Amazon may have seemed a little expensive initially, but as you will save so much time and hassle with this product I think it is a small price to pay. You can also lend or even sell it on to friends wishing to do the same thing when they upgrade. Depending on how much data you wish to transfer the whole process can vary in time, from 15 minutes to an hour or more. Ultimately the process is simple to set up and takes little to no intervention once started.

        I would strongly recommend the purchase of the Belkin Easy Transfer Cable for anyone buying a new Windows 7 PC/laptop if they have old data which they wish to transfer. The cable looks and feels robust enough, but you will probably only ever need to use it once or twice.
