Cisco LocalDirector is tightly integrated with a Cisco network. The Accelerated Server Load Balancing (ASLB) feature works in conjunction with the Catalyst 6000 and Catalyst 6500 to accelerate TCP sessions. The ASLB feature set ensures load-balancing performance greater than 800 Mbps and up to 15 Mpps. Implementing the multinode feature improves a systems administrator's ability to build highly available server systems. The Cisco LocalDirector, in conjunction with Cisco routers, now allows multiple points of access to the servers achieving the ultimate in availability. The Cisco quality-of-service (QoS) Policy Manager is able manage Cisco LocalDirector QoS attributes.

The Cisco LocalDirector 430, enabled by Gigabit technology, is ideal for high-traffic Internet sites that require up to 400 Mbps of throughput and 30, 000 connections per second.
