VOI-8000 adapts the H.323 and H.450 protocol stack to provide the advanced Internet telephony solutions and to ensure compatibility with most popular VoIP equipment. For bandwidth management, the device offers Voice Activity Detection (VAD) that releases unused call bandwidth for data traffic while also featuring Comfort Noise Generation(CNG) function at the receiving terminal so the user knows the line has not dropped. Regarding voice codec, VOI-8000 supports voice compression standards such as G.711, G.723, G.729 A/B and also G.168, Echo Cancellation. These functions minimize bandwidth requirements for voice transmission while still providing high quality voice reproduction. Furthermore, the device also utilizes FAX protocols T.30, T.38 to meet different VoIP application demands.

Two optional modules are supported, MDU-8000S and MDU-8000O, each with 4 FXS interfaces and 4 FXO interfaces. VOI-8000 is user-friendly to setup and install with minimum configuration by Web-based management interface, console port or Telnet. With the embedded DDNS server, voice communication is easy to establish in a dynamic IP environment. To keep up with future technology, software download and upgrades are easily done via network with built-in TFTP and flash memory.
