MRV MC102FI/S1 ... fiber port has a choice of multimode or single mode fiber, single fiber operation, different wavelengths and power levels.

MC102 units are unmanaged; however using switching technology provides important advantages over simple repeaters or converters. The most important features are the separation of collision domains and error packets filtering between the two ports. The copper port has the auto-negotiation feature and can be forced to 10Mbps or 100Mbps speeds.

For applications with long frames (more than 1522 bytes), like some inter-router communication (e.g. MPLS) switching technology is limited. For such applications true Fast Ethernet repeaters are suitable (MC102FR). Another important feature is ALI (Automatic Link Integrity) which, in case the fiber link fails, automatically turns the second link down.

For Gigabit Ethernet applications MC102G units provide fiber-to-fiber conversion for infrastructure adaptation and longer distances communication. All products have universal input internal power supplies.
