2xN Span Port Switches allow simultaneous monitoring with two distributed devices of any two separate span ports connected to the Switch, extending the reach of critical monitoring tools. These Switches support all the flexibility normally associated with network switch span ports, including VLAN monitoring. Because Span Port Switches are not in-line, network traffic flows uninterrupted regardless of whether power is available to the Switch.

Many ease-of-use features are incorporated, including LED displays, front-mount connectors, and intuitive software. With the latest PortRover software, network managers can name each network link, plus have multiple options to control which link is being monitored. In the first method, switching between monitoring any connected link is as simple as clicking on the software-based keypad. The next option is 'Automatic' mode, where the monitoring device continuously repeats cycles of monitoring each link for a predetermined period. Finally, a 'Custom' mode is offered, enabling users to create and save custom monitoring patterns.
