As with all Net Optics Taps, GigaBit Regeneration Taps feature passive link integrity, enabling the network to operate at a continuous flow regardless if power is available to the Tap. Redundant power is included as an additional feature to support monitoring uptime.

When deployed with custom monitoring cables, GigaBit Regeneration Taps support easy full-duplex monitoring by sending each side of the signal to a separate monitoring device NIC.
