Network Critical 4x4 TAP

Network Critical 4x4 TAP ... visibility into four critical full-duplex Ethernet links. Once installed in-line it gives network intrusion detection sensors uncompromised access to all packets on the links while insulating them from potential attack, thus helping them to maintain the highest possible availability required for reliable anomaly detection.

Operating exclusively at OSI Layer 1 - the physical media level - the TAP has no addressing capability and remains invisible to all network devices. This also means that it has no latency and adds no overhead to the live links.

The TAP isolates the attached sensors by not allowing packets from the sensors back onto the live links. This means that the sensors are not susceptible to port scans, probes or other types of pre-attack investigations that could take them offline. They will, however, be able to detect those port scans.

In the event of a loss of power to the TAP, its fail-over capability ensures the live links will remain active allowing continued operation of your network.
