Precise operation of the remote computer can only be achieved via the original mouse pointer. A browser-based Web interface is available for configuration of the SSC Console IP. With the system operational, access to the target computers may be achieved via Web browsers and Java applets (irrespective of the operating system) or via optimized client software for common operating systems. The SSC Console IP also has an integral local console port (competing with IP access) for connecting the keyboard, mouse and monitor. With the Rittal KVM-over-IP solution, security is a top priority. For this reason, access to the console is additionally password-protected. KVM access to the Web interface may be encrypted via HTTPS (SSL 128-bit). While operational, during the KVM session, optionally only the control channel, but additionally the video channel and/or the keyboard mouse channel as well, may be encrypted. This ensures that the signals in the network are protected from unauthorized reading.
