Advantages: Beautiful sophisticated lips
Disadvantages: If you have to pay full price then it is expensive
I love make-up and I adore lipsticks. I never used to wear lipstick every day until a few years ago when I realised that the more often I wore lippy the less I suffered with cold sores. So, I wear lippy every day now, even at home (apart from a Sunday which is a totally lazy day unless we go out somewhere). Last Saturday, on a visit to Salisbury, we went to the Cross Keys pub for lunch and afterwards browsed around the shops in that arcade (my favourite shop TKMaxx is situated here) and I came across a newly opened shop called ?Beauty Fulltime?. Notices on the window promised me that I could get ?designer make-up? at cheap prices. I thought that this was a con, couldn?t be true but I entered into the shop. Rows and rows of beautiful, cheap, designer make-up and perfumes. I came across the lipstick section and noticed the Nina Ricci satin collection. The lipstick boxes stood out against the other designer lipsticks because the small box containing the lipstick is a mixture of various colours. Each side has a different colour: yellow, salmon pink, lilac, light salmon and the top and bottom sections are coloured pink. All in all, a very attractive box and obviously a good eye-catching theme. The box has Nina Ricci?s name on the front and states that the contents weigh 4g. It does list the ingredients which are too many too mention and it is ?Made in France?. There is a leaflet inside the box which has been written in 9 different languages! Truly international lippy here then! Once caught, I picked up the various testers to see the choice of colours. The lipstick holder is very unusual and attractive. It carries on the colour theme of salmon pink base with a gold top. Twist the top slightly to reveal the lipstick underneath. They had about ten different colours and so I automatically did the ?lippy test? ? painting the various shades onto the back of my hand until I finally decided which shade to purchase. I chose No.26 which is a kind of mid-
plum colour which I do tend to favour rather than the browns and I prefer satin lipsticks rather than glossy although I do possess a couple of glossy ones. I hate a lipstick that feels greasy on my lips ? I have thrown numerous one out because I like a lipstick to stay on my lips not transfer onto my cup or food. This Nina Ricci lipstick just glided onto my lips and I was quite surprised that I only need three strokes of the lipstick to make my lips look really luscious. I normally have to touch up little bits that I have missed to create a nice ?lippy? effect but not so with Nina Ricci. I actually measured the visible part of the lipstick which is ?flame? shaped and noted it was 1? long so probably I have got about 1.25? of lipstick in this container. Now to the test. Did the lipstick have staying power? I duly noted the time the lippy was applied (07.30) and throughout that morning (I was at work) I had drunk several glasses of water, one cup of tea, ate grapes, an orange and a banana (not much lippy went on the banana either) and at 12.30 (time for lunch) I noticed that I still had some lippy on and my lips still had a nice plum colour tone to them! Was I impressed? Of course, I was. I have been using this lipstick all week and love it. I just love a lipstick that has staying power but also like one which can made me feel glamorous and reflect my moods. It is easy to apply - just glides onto your lips and I really do recommend it to you. Now to the crunch line ? COST. I am happy to tell you that I paid ONLY £1.50 ? however, the normal retail price is c.£12.99 so Beauty Fulltime really do give their customers a brilliant deal. Sadly, I only bought one lipstick as I actually thought it would be crap for the price and that it must be a fake but it is not and it is absolutely brilliantly good value. Would I pay the normal retail price of c.£12.99? Yes, I would but next time I visit Salisbury I wi
ll be buying several lipsticks to take home. How can anyone miss such a bargain. Visit their website: www.ninaricci.fr and view their products. I have given this product only 4 stars instead of 5 because not everyone will be able to obtain this lipstick at the knockdown price that I have. Nina Ricci Trivia: **She was born in 1883 in Turin **At the age of 20 opened up her own Haute Couture house in Paris with her son Robert **She was the queen of fashion and love a woman to look feminine **It was actually her son, Robert, who created the best-selling perfume ?L?Air du Temps?

- 28/07/04 I don't wear lipstick very often. I think I'd be tempted to stock up on some of these if I found them for £1.50 though! |
