Advantages: Good Graphics

Donkey Kong 64 is Donkey Kongs first outing on the N64 and is a platform game much in the mould of the Donkey Kong Country series on the SNES. The game is a 3D platforming game which is very similar to RARE's previous 3D platformer Banjo Kazooie. The game is pretty good and has superb graphics (well superb for the N64 anyway) but still doesn't have what it takes to be better than Mario 64 which is still the best 3D platformer by a mile.

The idea of the game is to collect all the golden bananas using Donkey Kong and his relatives, each of which has different skills which are necessary to collect the bananas. It is pretty much standard platform fare but if you have completed Mario then this is probably the next best alternative.
