Advantages: Graphics, Gameplay, Music, Balance, Physics. Spy/Stealth. Multiplayer. Bond!

Disadvantages: None

Anyone who knows anything about the First Person Shooter (FPS) genre on the console will know Golden Eye is the Mac Daddy. It set a level that wouldn't be surpassed of years to come.

Everything about the game was perfect and made better by the classic N64 control pad.

You are "Bond" James Bond. Now, it doesn't really matter if you have seen the movie or not because the game is so good it just works. Obviously if you have seen the movie you will know what to expect and recognise the locations.

The graphics are superb for their time and still pretty good for today, I often read on the internet that people are still have 4 player death matches at a friends house. Now those were the "good old days".

The music is classic, game play fast, but you also have to be cautious as to not alert the guards. You can play the game how you like actually, as you unlock extras you can choose to use extra weapons or effects in any given level. So you can start the game with its basic weapons or use "power weapons" Talk about feeling like Schwarzenegger when you are taking down hordes of guards without worrying for your safety.

Level design was great, you can tell RARE really went the extra mile with this game. Shame they went to pot when Microsoft bought them. (I'll be reviewing some of their other games later on like Banjo).

All in all, if you haven't played this game yet you should. It still holds up today. It is still worth buying an N64 for it because of the amount of classic games there are for it on the cheap.

5 out of 5

Summary: One of the best games on the N64, with friends it is a classic. On your own, you are Bond!! Play it
