Advantages: Multiplayer games, Number of guns

Disadvantages: Outdated graphics

Although I do not have an N64 and i haven't played many of the games I do have to say that this is my favourite game for the console.

Over all the console did prove to be a bit of a flop for many reasons but one of their few successes was this game. Released in 1997 it was way ahead of its time.

Nowadays the only drawback that can be seen in the game is the now slighty outdated graphics.

The missions are great with good graphics and the N64 gamepad gives the player good control of the character. The missions are also sufficiently difficult to make the game last the player a time, and differing skill levels agive the player the opportunity to become a master at the game.

The game's real strength comes from the multi-player mode with up to four players being able to play similtaneously at a range of different matches such as capturing the flag, playing in teams, the golden gun and you only live twice.

The range of levels and numerous different guns and characters mean the multi-player mode has many different combinations and so does not become tiresome.

the multi-player game is great to play with friends but it is great to play the missions and it has to be said that this is overall a great game

Good op but I think you need to make the distinction between commercial sucess and critical sucess. The N64 may not have done very well financially but it had a hell of a lot of good games, so much so that the magazine best respected by the videogames industry, 'Edge', decided that 'GoldenEye 007', 'Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time' and 'Super Mario 64' (all exclusive to the N64) were the best three games ever.
