In my opinion International Superstar Soccer is far and away the best fooball game ever. Although it has not sold as many copies as the FIFA franchise and may not have as good graphics or real player names, it is the sheer playability of this game that plays FIFA off the park. The play is much more realistic and the best goals are made using passing and crossing rather than running one player the length of the pitch and shooting as is common place in so many inferior titles.

I have been playing ISS since the release of the first version on the SNES and in my opinion ISS98 is the best so far. The two player game adds to the longegivity of the title but the multiple difficulty levels ensure that while it is easy to get into, it is very difficult to master.

I have heard that the upcoming ISS2000 doesn't add a great deal to ISS98 and is probably only worth buying if you don't have ISS98. With the release of a new version it may be possible to pick up ISS98 at a bargain price, so what are you waiting for!!
