Advantages: Plenty of flexibility in what paths you follow

Disadvantages: No way to save your progress

Part of the Star Fox series and available for download on your Wii. Lylat Wars features Fox McCloud and a team that primarily consists of Slippy the toad, Peppy the hare and Falco, a falcon. There are also guest appearances from other old friends of the team, Bill and Kat. Star Wolf and his team of minions are trying to stop you from getting to Andross who has declared war in the Lylat sytem.

If you choose to take the training option first you will have some time to adjust to the controls, you can return to the training option anytime you like and it lasts for an indefinite length of time. There are also options for those of you with 2 controllers in VS mode. The game play starts with a message from the General telling you that Andross has declared war and has some super weapon that you must destroy. You're shown a map and start the play in Corneria you have a choice of 2 enemies to fight pay attention to your flight buddies as they give you some clues as to what these other routes are. If you do as they say you are more likely to get mission accomplished. The advantage of mission accomplished is that when you return to the map you can choose whether to follow a blue (easy) path or a red (hard) path. There are also yellow path options at certain points at the game. You can get medals for getting 150 rings on the first level and medals are awarded for different achievements on future levels.

The only downside to this game is that you cannot save your progress so if you get so far without dying and then need to go out you will lose all your progress. However if you've got a high score when you get game over your score is recorded

Summary: A good shoot em up sort of game with amusing if sometimes weird dialogue
