Advantages: The game is extremely addictive
Disadvantages: There are no disadvantages. I loved it
I just could not resist writing a review for this game lol its one of my all time favourites and will always be. When I was younger, I'd stay all night at my cousins house and play untill the early hours, having not owned a Nintendo 64 myself (How unfortunate =( But Ive got one now ! Yay!)
Anyway, this game is unlike any other. You can have a maximum of four players and you go head to head to head to head lol against your opponents in a series of races that include tracks such as
Mushroom cup: *Please note. These are the easiest tracks
: Luigi Raceway
: Moo Moo Farm
: Koopa Troopa Beach
: Kalimari Desert
Flower Cup: *These are a little more advanced
:Toad's Turnpike
:Frappe Snowland
:Choco Mountain
:Mario Raceway (Be careful of the sharp turns on this one. It could cost you your win!)
Star Cup: *My favourite set of tracks =]
:Wario Stadium
:Sherbet Land
:Royal Raceway
:Bowser's Castle
Special Cup: *The hardest cup to complete. It requires skill and determination
: D.K's Jungle Parkway
: Yoshi Valley
: Banshee Broadwalk
: Rainbow Road (I seem to recall my cousin using some sort of cheat when he used bowser on this track. He seemed to 'pass through' the dogs that are on this level)
You can also choose from a range of charachters such as :
Mario
Luigi
Peach
Toad
Yoshi
D.K
Wario
Bowser
In terms of strength and weakness, Yoshi is the fastest but he is weak on turning corners. Bowser is the strongest but he's rather slow.
Also if you don't like the mario GP, you can go head to head against a friend in VS mode or battle mode. On countless occasions i've enjoyed all three forms of gameplay =)
The overall Enjoyment of the game for me personally: 10/10
Addictiveness: 10/10
Originality: One of the most original games I've come across. 9/10
Graphics: Excellent. Its possibly a combination of the Graphics and Originality that makes this game so incredible.
Value For Money: At its time of release my cousin paid £30 for this game, but today you can get it on Ebay for £10 or less. Most Nintendo 64 games on Ebay sell for 99p or just over, But as this game is so addictive, everyone seems to have it and I just cant get my hands on a copy lol So yes, well worth the money.
I recommend to this game to all Mario lovers, Racing game lovers and so forth! If you don't play it your certain to miss out! =)
