Advantages: multiplayer fun easy to learn

Disadvantages: the repetative music

The first in the series of mario party games. It is set out as a board game in which you control characters like mario or luigi. The aim of the game is to get the required amount of power stars. this game was designed for the family and has a four player option which some games did not feature. If you felt like it you could play by your self or with a friend. To get a power star you need to get 20 coins to excange when you land on the platform that the star is placed, After buying the star the location of the star changes to give other players a chance. the board is made of differant colour spaces, There are blue spaces that if you land on will give you 3 coins,Red spaces that take away 3 coins and spaces with bowsers picture on that require you to play one of his mini games which you are likely to lose alot of coins and some times even a star. After every one has had a turn there is a mini game picked out at random such as Platform peril in wich you run down black and white checkered platforms jumping and avoiding obstacles if you fall you lose. The idea is to be the first to the other side to win. If you decide that the board part of the game takes to long and you just want to play mini gamesyou could go to the mini game book and play the games you have unlocked or just brush up on your skills to become better and then take on the family this game has many great aspects like the graphics which were great for when it was realeased. The down side was the music after about 2 hours listening to the songs they began to get tedious.This game is largely entertaining from 4 years old to about 40 but if your parents or grand parennts rememember mario I am sure they will love it to.In my opinion this game was great for its time but has lost its charm over the years.

Summary: a great game that now cant live up to the standards of new party games
