Advantages: Everything

Disadvantages: Nothing

Goldeneye was good. This is better.

Everyone who has owned or know someone who has owned an N64 has played Goldeneye, and most people have been quickly hooked by the easy gameplay and the great plot line.

The range of weaponry was superb and the multiplayer mode and options ensured that even if you completed it you would never get bored of blowing up your so-called friends.

That was until the advent of Perfect Dark. Hoe many copies of Goldeneye must now lie, unwanted and unused, beside game consoles acoss the land?

There is a very good reason why Perfect Dark has overtaken the game that everyone thought could never be beaten - it is better. Much better.

The gameplay is better - the levels are larger and more detailed, and the plot is just as good as that of Goldeneye. It is more enteraining than Goldeneye.

The game itself is brilliant. It takes far longer to complete than GOldeneye, and this is down to its level of detail and the size of the levels as much as anything else. The puzzles are themselves harder and it takes longer to progress through the game than with Goldeneye.

But that isn't the best part of this game.

Multiplayer mode was an extremely popular par of Goldeneye, and Perfect Dark follows in these footsteps, and with far more options to configure as well as the inclusion of Sims (artificial people who can be cannon fodder or impossibly good) the multi-player game is even more addictive than Goldeneye ever could be.

I have just checked my N64, and since picking up this game, me and my flatmate have played somewhere in the region of 20000 games in multiplayer mode. If that doesn't give you ane xample of how addictive it is, nothing will.

It is the game nobody thought would ever be made - one that knocks the socks off Goldeneye, so I propose a toast - to the game we all forgot...
