Advantages: Closes we can get to a 64 Pokemon game, Addictive, Secrets are fun to find
Disadvantages: 63 Pokemon?, Way too short, Set Route
I love Pokémon but I was cautious of Pokémon snap, take pictures of Pokémon? Sounds a bit childish even for Pokémon but I took a look and what I saw pleased me. I saw a jungle, a Volcano and I saw Pokémon moving and living in this amazing environment! Pokémon Stadium was good but it was Snap that made the possibility of a 3D Pokémon a possibility.
So I bought it but this game that I thought looked so cool has some BIG flaws. One only 63 Pokémon, at the time of Pokémon Snap’s release there was 151 Pokémon not 63 and so some of our favorites were missing. This helps contribute to its second problem, the games size. 4 hours it took me to snap all 63 Pokémon! Also the game has a set root, you can’t creep up on a Pokémon or hide in the bushes it’s like being on a train and you take pictures from the window.
So with so many problems it is a definite no right? Its positive points out weigh Pokémon Snap’s problems heavily. OK the game is short but getting the 10,000 pointed Mew or the Pikachu on Articuno will take you much longer and that’s not all. Pokémon Snap is great fun with an amazing feeling of achievement! Knocking a chameleon into a pool of lava and out pops a Charizard and hit him with a pester ball to receive a fire blast, Throw 3 pester balls into a whirl pool and witness the lovely looking Dragonite!
I won’t go on but there is hundreds of secrets packed away in the game! Can you get the Balloon Pikachu or the surfing one? Do you know how to get the best Poliwag picture or getting Psyduck to leap from the water? Getting those best pictures can be a bit hard but it you will the sense of achievement is high as your new Gyarados picture destroys your old one when you compare them!
You can choose your best 4 and put them in the gallery and even place many of your favorites in the Pokémon album! How many can you evolve?
The story has you helping good old Professor Oak who wants you to
snap as many Pokémon as you can! Finding all the secrets is a challenge but a fun one and with the price of the game being under tenner it is well worth a purchase!
