Rating:

Advantages: so many features hours of game time for experts and amateurs

Disadvantages: was very under rated and over looked was in the ugly N64 brick form

This game was simply amazing for its time but because of nintendos slump in Europe and the U.K at the time it was very much under rated sadly.

You could play Pokemon red, blue, yellow, gold, silver and crystal through the game on the tv screen, .so it acted like a super game boy for Pokemon but for the N64.

There are many mini multi player games (up to 4 players providing you have 4 controls) in which you play a Pokemon . Some examples are barrier ball were you play a Mr Mime and have to protect your goal or a delibird and you have to gather presents, although they only last for a few minutes each you can choose different difficulty levels from easy to hard.

There is a Pokemon academy in which your Pokemon knowledge is tested both on theory and in battle, for instance in the theory section you have to answer as many questions about Pokemon as you can based on thiner appearance, and then a sort of written test. In the battle test you have to learn how to use combo attacks to defeat your enemy, each has different levels which progress in difficulty.

There is a mystery gift option for the second generation Pokemon games in which you could gain rare Pokemon dolls or items and view your room in 3D

You could play using your own or rented Pokemon through all the Pokemon gyms ans Pokemon league

You could battle against friends or play through Pokemon cup championships through the computer mode at levels 5or lower, level 100, or level 50-55

You could view and organize your game pack Pokemon in 3D

You could win prize pokemon and download them to your game packs also.

However you do gave the horrible digital Pokemon sounds from the original game boy games which isnt so great, and the announcer for the matches is the same as the one from the cartoon series which gets a bit annoying at times, the sound track for longer matches isnt overly original and a bit boring, but at least the graphics are good for the generation and you get to see all the Pokemon attack in 3D which is nice and colourful.

However with the amount of other features available in the game am not one to be doing too much complaining. Especially with an endless choice of rented Pokemon for the big computer battles.

It could be classified mainly as an RPG turn based game, but it also has many multi player options and a simulator section based in the bedroom option and Pokemon school section.

Summary: A great game for its time with so much work done to it yet over looked by many
