In the game you have to venture through a fair amount of levels such as the homes of drug barons and government buildings rescuing hostages and eliminating the terrorists. You have four men to work with and you can put them in teams. You then must plan the action you will take, setting paths and check points for your teams. This makes the game very tactical although next it goes into first peson mode and becomes and almost average shoot-em-up. The game is pretty good overall, the graphics are good...more

Premium Review Rainbow Six (N64): Hard-as-nails Stealthy shoot-em (231 words)

Rainbow Six is a very different type of shoot-em-up that involves a lot more teamwork, tactical work and stealth than many other game. I think this makes it a lot more interesting that most games, but to do well in the game u really have to be patient in the planning stages and take it slowly. This is an excellent real-time first person stealth shooter. it's a long title, but it deserves it! You take control of a crack squad of highly trained SAS officers. You will play through the game, rescuing hostages, taking out terrorists, diffusing bombs and cracking locks! Before you undertake your missions, you must choose who will be used. You can split up to 8 characters into up to four teams. Choose from explosives, sniping, lock picking etc. specialists. Name a captain for each team, who will be responsible for others. Chose the kit that your men will have, from m-16's to pistols, grenades to flashbangs. Chose a uniform ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Rainbow Six (N64): Disappointing Shoot Em Up (273 words)

I bought this game expecting a great stealth game, which would provide a good team game. How wrong I was! While the graphics are reasonable, they are jerky, and the horizons are pathetic - just looking like a 2D wallpaper being pasted on a wall! The motion of the other characters walking is reminiscent of Mortisha Addams - sliding along, instead of walking! The computer controlled team-mates must have been trained by the Muppets, since they walk out and you usually lose most of them by the end of the mission, or they mess up the whole mission for you. I decided after a few infuriating attempts to go it alone, and found this allowed me to advance ...  Read the complete review
