Advantages: graphics, control, unlocking tracks, etc.

Disadvantages: more tracks (too much fun!!), one obstacle course, nothing!! =D

This is a fantastic game...The first Rush was somewhat entertaining, but got very frusterating and looked like crap compared to Rush 2049!!

Okay, just looking at the cover of the box shows how good this game is. You can choose from 1-4 players. The options you can choose from are One Race, Circuits, Practice, Battle, Stunt, and Obstacle Course. (there are also the basic Audio options and screening, whatever)

CARS
These cars are pretty tight. They range from honking 4x4 trucks to sleek sport cars with rockets in the back, to mini Bug cars that kick up dust. The colors you can choose are in a wide range. If you go the cheat option hidden in the menu (go to a cheat website to find this) you can change the tires of the cars, from little dots to giant monster truck ones. The engines range from a puny 3.0 to the fast 8.0, and you can also change what type of car you're using. For example...you have your automatics and stickshifts, right? Well, there are Sport Automatic and Sport Stickshifts, and so on. They mostly change the speed of your car. You have different tires, also, from offroad ones to slick tires that make you slide. You have to be very expierenced to master these babies. The car options also lets you choose the size of the wings you can bring out during play (the wings support you in mid-air...when you hit a big jump and go sailing, you can control yourself in the air...sweet, huh?)

TRACKS
The tracks are expertly designed. There are always hidden places you'll find either by chance or by looking for a VERY long time. There are six tracks (or seven, I can't remember) and very unique. They have tight turns and long ramps, and some parts in them where it takes skill and a LOT of luck not to blow up. You can choose the fog density, the wind strength, and if you want it mirrored or backwards or both.

COINS
These things are quite annoying. There are eight gold and eight silver in every track. Finding them h

elps you unlock new options for you car, more cars, and more tracks. Sometimes they lay in plain site (the coins, mind you) and sometimes they're wedged between tight places, or suspended in the air where you have to fly off a certain ledge at a certain angle to get at them. It can get frusterating, but hang in there!

BATTLE
This is very fun to do with a friend. I'm disappointed that you can't play it with the computer, though...oh well. You pick up different types of weapons, ranging from the Sonic Blaster to the peanut shooter (it's not actually called a peanut shooter...it actually shoots out one-hit kill rockets, but unfortunately only holds 3 rockets...it looks like DK's shooter on Donkey Kong...=P). You unlock more battle tracks by gaining points on blowing up your opposer. The battle tracks get funner with each new one you unlock! Note: There are no coins to collect in Battle Mode.

STUNTS
You also unlock more stunt tracks by getting more and more points. There are also the sixteen coins to get...if course, these are more difficult to gain because of all the twisted obastacles designed to get you to produce more efficient stunts. These "stunts" are made by you going as fast as you can and doing multiple acrobatic stunts in the air, AND surviving. If you flip on your back you're toast, and all the points you would have gained are lost. You don't LOSE point necessarily, though, so that's a given. The max time on this is twenty minutes.

OBSTACLE COURSE
This is exactly what it is...an obstacle course. You must drive through to the finish line, dodging swinging pendulums, jump over lava, weave between moving blocks, and flip to land right-side-up on upside-down roller coasters. The main objective is to finish in as little time as possible.

AI
They are pretty easy on easy mode (imagine that!!) but if you switch to hard, they can be extremely brutal and pretty sneaky. T
hey h
ave better engines, so go even faster as you proceed through the difficulty levels, and take shortcuts. They also push you around and run over switches that have different advantages (example: one switch on track 5 pulls out a giant steel obstacle so that the other players ram into it and blow up.)

MULTI-PLAYER MODE
These are pretty fun, and up to four players can play, splitting the screen into fourths. Battling is fun, although you can't be on teams (you can if you want, but with no help from the computer)

OTHER INFO
It's helpful because you have a bunch of different views...you can be behind the wheel and see the hood, or just be right in back of the car, or be behind the wheel and NOT see the hood...I'm not sure how to do it, but a couple times I've actually had something happen to where I saw my car from a side angle...it was very confusing...if you find out how, please tell me!!!

The music tracks are great. There are around ten different songs to switch to, but the defaults works best for me because they rotate every few minutes without me having to press start and go to "music menu" and do it myself. The graphics are great!! The colors are very vibrant and vivid, and everything is so detailed...I think this is a fantastic improvement and this sort of design should be used more frequently...it's like a 3-D sci-fi world, basically...

If you get the expansion pack, there are little trains that go down the road (watch out for those), and planes fly overhead. Also, the music for the practice mode will be available.

You can also save your files so your data on the coins on tracks won't be erased...(you need a controller pak for this, though)

Overall, this is a fantastic game and I'm extremely happy I bought it. I recommend you do, also. Have fun!!!!

Good review as far as it went, but you could do with putting a lot more detail in about what sort of game it is etc. I only managed to work out it was some sort of driving game...
