South Park was created in only about six months by Iguana. It was designed using the Turok 2: Seeds of Evil engine and is a 1st person shooter as well. It was clearly rushed. It was rushed so it would be out before Christmas. Because Iguana rushed South Park, it leaves even hardcore South Park fans looking for something more. Although fans of the show will enjoy the game more than others, they still won't get there money's worth. Gameplay: The story starts off when Chef tells the children of a comet that comes around every 666 years. He tells them that the comet will cause strange spooky stuff to happen. This is where the game starts. The game is divided into five different episodes, which each contain 4 or 5 stages that deal with different threats (aliens, clones, toys, turkeys and robots) to the town of South Park. In order to defeat the enemies, Cartman, Kenny, Kyle and Stan use several crazy weapons like the cow launcher, fart dolls and nerf guns to destroy enemy "tanks" (larger versions of the enemies) that are headed for South Park. To do this, you must wander through large, foggy, outdoor levels. After playing this for about a day and a half, I, a big fan of the show, got very bored. The entire game is repetitive because the only thing to do is shoot things, there no other things to do in the game. The Multiplayer however is very fun. You are able to choose between 20 different characters from the show that all speak. There is a good selection of levels and different game modes. If you like multiplayer games, then definitely check this one out. Graphics: This is what lured me into South Park. Seeing the cast of one of my favorite shows transferred into 3D helps make the gameplay a little better. All the characters, buildings in the town, and the environments were beautifully done. The graphics are very impressive. The graphics are the best in the cutscenes with Chef. You will see the four children and
Chef talking in the cafeteria, Chef's house and other places from the show. Audio: The speech in this game is amazing. All the characters have lots of things to say all through the game. This definitely adds to the fun of the game and the multiplayer. It's more fun to have the game yell at your opponent or friend. As for the music, its just plain annoying. I expected better music in a "M" rated 1st person shooter game than the crap that sounds like something from a Disney movie. Controls: The controls will be hard to get used to at first, unless you have played Turok or Turok 2. The controls exactly the same. If you play Goldeneye alot, you might have a hard time adjusting to the controls. Re-playability: The single player mode in South Park will last you about 2 days. After that, you will probably pull out one of your old games. The multiplayer is fun and you'll be playing that for a while. There just isn't enough things to do in this game, unless you like an easy game with lots of wandering around. If they would not have rushed this game, it could have been a lot more fun. Overall: Do not buy this game. It is a huge waste of your money. The game is only fun for a few days, then gets very boring. If you like multiplayer games, then rent South Park. It is way to expensive to buy even if you are a fan of the show. Save your money and buy Goldeneye or Turok 2.
