Just Great! Almost all main characters from Nintendo in a Super Battle Game! This is Super Smash Bros.! *Storyline The game doesn't have a "storyline", but has some explanation: A "misterious hand" make some toy dolls to have life (don't ask me how, I don't have any idea... and I think ...  Read the complete review

Smash up Mario!!! (399 words)

This is a real original Nintendo game. Even with its simple 2-D graphics it is a cut above any multiplayer game I have ever seen. Well I suppose it is the basic plot of the game that makes it so much fun. I mean who could not find beating up that pathetic plumber known as Mario. Smashing him round the face with a baseball bat. Bombing ...  Read the complete review

brilliant arcade style action, perfect for partys, but 1 player can begin to grind after a while - Advantages: brilliant multicoloured action. , you can be/beat your favourite nintendo charactor. , has good longetivity, as multiplayer will keep you coming back. - Disadvantages: slightly hard to grasp for beginners, 1 player is not enough to keep you entertained for a huge stretch of time.

OK, I know this game is over a year old, but I finally got a chance to play it recently (I don't get to play many N64 games anymore; no one seems to want to play N64 these days) and just had to review it. Hopefully I can still give you all the information possible, especially considering . You gotta give Nintendo ...  Read the complete review

Super Smash Brothers (N64): half way to platinum (110 words)

Super Smash Bros. is a beat em' up game with (like Mario Kart 64) has alot of the Nintendo characters of the past and present. This game has been rated for everyone, but I would advise you would be over 5 years of age before you start to play. The controls are fairly easy to master but you can get very frustrated with them as well. ...  Read the complete review

Super Smash Bros is a beat-em-up with a difference. Instead of you normal fighting characters Super Smash Bros features all you favorite Nintendo stars. There is Mario, Pikachu, Kirby, Samus Aran, Fox McCloud, Link, Donkey Kong and Captain Falcon. There are also 4 secret characters to unlock. The game is really divided into ...  Read the complete review

I first remember hearing of this game way back in an old issue of N64 magazine (in its glory days), I think they had reviewed the Japanese release. I remember the magazine printing a little form for its readers to fill in if they wanted desperately to see the game released on these shores. Then they would send them off to Nintendo and ...  Read the complete review

Super Smash Brothers (N64): Smash the Nintendo characters (357 words)
by - written on 08/03/01, updated on  13/03/01 (Very useful, 490 readings)
Rating:

This is a beautiful game and a Nintendo classic just like Super Mario Kart was for the snes. The cool thing in this game is that it allows you to beat up characters such as Mario, Pikachu and Link or you can in turn be them. Also the most original part is that there is no energy bar and instead there is a percentage of how low the ...  Read the complete review

The person who thought up the idea of smash brothers was a mastermind. The game uses the whole Nintendo crew including characters like Mario, Donkey Kong, Link and so on, fighting against each other in the biggest scrap of the century!!! Once again Nintendo have created a game, which is truly superb!!! It may sound like an ...  Read the complete review

Super Smash Brothers (N64): the best beat-em up? (186 words)
by - written on 15/01/01, updated on  16/01/01 (Very useful, 92 readings)
Rating:

This is THE beat-em-up on the N64. You can, for those misguided among you that don't like Pokemon, beat up Pikachu with Donkey Kong. If you want a beat-em-up for the N64 this is the one to get. Although those hardcore beat-em-uppers won't like its cartoony style, this is a challenging and enthralling game. As well as the ...  Read the complete review

A fighting game containg your favourite Nintendo characters? Not what you'd expect from Nintendo is it? But this is no ordinary beat em up. Nintendo dont do things like everybody else, they do it better. Super Smash Bros. Along with Mario Kart and GoldenEye this is an essential game for multiplayer lovers. It is basically a beat em-up with classic Nintendo characters and wild weapons. Smash Brothers is the latest attempt by Nintendo at a beat em up and as usual for the big N it is trully superb. Super Smash Brothers (N64): Super Smash Bros (117 words)
by - written on 07/09/00, updated on  07/09/00 (Very useful, 21 readings)
Rating:

Super Smash Bros is a real departure from your standard beat-em-up. The range of moves is limited, standard combos pretty much, out of the question, and everything taking place in a 3D platform-type environment with 2D routes along it. In short, don't buy this if you're after a Tekken beater. Do buy this, however, if you ...  Read the complete review

A great idea for a game executed well the single players a bit dodjy and short but the multiplayer is great fun. The characters are different enough to give you loads of hours swapping between them before you stay with one paticular one. The idea of the game is to battle your way through several stages playing the other game characters. When I first played this game I was very unimpressed, as I was easily bored by it and it didn't let me have anything to look foward to by completing the game. If you like games where you have to battle your way through stages ...  Read the complete review

Is it the characters who make this game a winner? Is it the special moves which are relevant for each character? Is it the brilliant battles for up to four players?
