This is one of the most unique Legend of Zeldas, and is probably one of the darker entries in the series. From aliens abducting girls to many people meeting their demise. This is a lot of peoples favorite Zelda. Just like Ocarina of Time it was so well received that nintendo made a remake on the 3DS. I played this game not to long ago and it still holds up, and will probably play it again soon.
Although this game wasn't as well received as it's counterpart, it's just about as good as Ocarina; if not better. Though it is puzzle based - like most Zelda games - And the puzzles can get a bit cryptic at times (nothing a good walkthrough can't fix) It does have a sort of dark undertone, and there are innumerable conspiracy theories about this game, it is certainly a brilliant piece of work. With most Zelda games, it's not just a single story, there a bunch of different side stories to experience, so even if you think that you've finished the game there are many other side quests to do. This is likely one of the chief reasons why people enjoy this game; there are so many secrets and side stories and extras to unlock that you end up playing for hours on end. Majora's Mask is just as good as Ocarina of Time, however if you're a bit more into exploring, though I will have to say that Ocarina provides a more open environment and it's actually a quite bigger game than this one. But if your more of a Midcore to Hardcore gamer, than this is an excellent game for you. It succeeds in being fun for all ages, While being challenging at the same time. Though it is pretty much a one-player game, and if you're looking for Multiplayer at all, then I would certainly recommend Mario, even though there are a small handful of Multiplayer Zelda games released
