Advantages: The gameplay, graphics and well... everything
Disadvantages: Nothing
Whilst obviously being over a decade old and on a much weaker console than we are used to now, there still is in my opinion, no single game that has done more for the industry than The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo 64.
I was a fan of Zelda games prior to this but the build up and anticipation created by the industry in the build up to this release was something really special and I am pleased to say that the game lived up to the hype and then some.
Firstly, for the time, these graphics were practically unheard of and the big vast world that the game was set in was just a pipe dream until now. The feeling of really belonging in the game was unique and I don't think that has really been re-created in the Zelda games since, as good as they have obviously been.
The game itself features a time travel sort of storyline which propels Link between childhood and adulthood and sees him battling to save the Princess and Hyrule once again. The action is truly outstanding and at times is like an epic war game but with a lot of charm. The puzzle aspect, evident in all Zelda games, is the best of the series in this outing. I remember asking my mam if I could phone the help line on numerous ocassions only to regain my composure and remember the essence of the game and what it stands for.
The Ocarina of Time is possibly the greatest game ever made when taken into account of the era and what the hardware was deemed to be capable of. Another classic from Nintendo.
Summary: If you haven't played it, go and get a retro games pack with it in
