Advantages: ALL
Disadvantages: NONE
This game is excellent! Simple. Well, I was going to leave my opinion at that, but... Well anyway, as previous stated this game is exceptional. It really is that good. And it is probably the only game that brings out the full capabilities of the N64. ~~~~Story~~~~ As in all Zelda games, you play as Link. A small little fairy boy who lives in Kokiri Village under the protection of the Deku Tree. One day, as you are lazing around as usual, you are called before the great deku tree. He tells you that a curse has been placed upon him and only you have the power to save him. The man that placed the curse on him is a man called Ganondorf (later becomes Ganon for all you old Zelda fans out there.) So after you have supposedly rid the evil from the Deku Tree he tells you the story of creation. "Before life began, before time itself existed. Three golden goddesses descended upon the land of Hyrule. With all their power they turned this land of waste into a beautiful land, rich with life and beauty. With there work done they returned to heaven, to their place among the stars. Were the departed the left behind the sacred triforce, an object with all their power and might. Since then the triforce had become the basis for Hyrule's providence. Where the Triforce stood became the sacred realm" The sacred realm was blocked from Hyrule by the door of time, sealed by magic. The only way to open it was to hold in your hands the 2 sacred stones from the 3 tribes of Hyrule. But more importantly they must hold the Ocarina of Time. A mystical object held by a member of the royal family, passed down for generations. Ganondorf, the source of evil was after the sacred stones. You must stop him... ~~~Playability~~~~ As in most Zelda games, there are no set levels. You have to travel to different dungeons, fight baddies and bosses in order to progress through the game. Although there are no set levels in each dungeon
you normally obtain an item or weapon that in turn allows you to access the next dungeon. Apart from the main dungeons there are loads of side-quests and mini-games through out. In these games you obtain items and objects that are not essential to the game, but certainly come in handy and make it easier in places. The game also boasts the best control system on the N64 and probably any other game on any other console. It is simple though and extremely easy to use. It is also very easy to get use to unlike some games. I have been so addicted to a game as I was to Ocarina Of time. It is brilliant every aspect of it is breathtaking, every character, every item perfect. The story is, as in all Zelda games odd, but what does it matter? Every dungeon is playability and gameplay to the max. ~~~Graphics~~~ I might have touched on this a bit before. This game is probably the only game, apart from Majora's Mask but that doesn’t count, that brings out every single ability and capability stored in my little old N64. The characters look extremely detailed and as good as a computer game character can. The game is completely in real-time, which means you choose your camera angle and also involves some great cut scenes and videos. The best part of this is that you can see time passing, when in Hyrule field you can see the sun raising and falling. Then the moon according. Also in the game you get different "weather" don’t really know if that is the right words, more like different light. One minute will be bright and cheerful, the next raining. Great stuff! ~~~~Conclusion~~~~ Well this will be simple. Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the best game out on the N64. Infect it is the singular and best reason to get an N64 in the first place.
