Advantages: Brilliant Single Player Story, every level seems to last forever

Disadvantages: ''Fog of war''

11 years after it was first released I decided to hunt down and purchase back my old copy of this classic N64 game as it was one of my favourite fps for the N64, with only Goldeneye and Perfect Dark surpassing it in my eyes.

It is the sequel to the successful Turok: Dinosaur Hunter; almost everything in game has been vastly improved on from that original title, from new weapons to improved graphics.

The story is that you have been called upon to thwart a demon-like alien from breaking free of it's prison and taking over the known world. You go through the game fighting against dinosaur armies sent to help him out of his prison, and how well you do in the game influences the ending of the game.

The single player game is the where this game really rocks, although the introduction of multi-player into this game allowed for the later Rage Wars spin off to be produced, which is another quality classic game.

Each level takes a fair while to go through as they are considerably long, especially when you think of the period when it was manufactured, and are full of enemies just waiting to be destroyed with all your weapons.

Weapons in game range from your bow to guns found on your journeys, with a few weapons of real mass carnage. The most memorable weapon is the Cerebral Bore, this works by firing a homing pod which attaches to the enemies head and starts to drain out its spinal fluid, this brutality ends with the pod exploding leaving a decapitated dinosaur; no doubt this is why the game got a 15 rating.

The one major downside to this game is the fog throughout stopping you from seeing too far ahead of you; although this does increase any tension in the levels when you can hear something but not see it.

Upon putting it inside my console I remembered how much I truly loved this game, even if using a single analogue controller now feels weird to me now, within half an hour I was used to the controls again and it became the game it was then.

Sure this game may look pixelated on a big HDTV and it may not be a scratch on some of the games being released now days, but if you are looking for a classic fps for the N64 then this is the game you are wanting. Other than this game, how many FPS games for the N64 have levels taking atleast an hour while stay enjoyable?

Summary: One of the best fps games for the N64, classic game
