Advantages: Great fun, Great single player, Even better Multiplayer
Disadvantages: Less Gore
Turok Rage wars! You can pick it up for under a tenner and is a deathmatch Turok game. Also the gore has been reduced quite astoundingly from holes in body and spasming as seen in previous incarnations of the Turok series to a mere flop of blood. So straight away you are put off but what if I say this is probably the best Turok EVER! Why? Well it has left the usual system and now includes a deathmatch style game where you battle against computer controlled opponents in cleverly designed arenas. The control system from the first 2 that seemed a little dodgy has been well and truly sorted out and moves smoothly. The game is highly addictive and unlike Turok 1 and 2 completing a section can take 5 minutes. But then again it is hard in places and you won’t want to rest until you have completed every level as every character and gain every medal. So the game is defiantly not short but isn’t that hard or frustrating either making this a highly enjoyable experience. The weapons are more innovative than any other Turok game, WE see a return to the cerebral bore but we also get the Inflator, which inflates them till they pop! Or the Emaciator that does the opposite and makes them thin! This new innovative weaponry would be good if the gore in the game hadn’t been heavily turned down, as Inflation could be very messy rather than a simple bigger, bigger, flop. Pathetic really. But now we move on to the main bit the multiplayer, you have a huge array of characters and with many options such as capture the flag it is a really fun experience! The story has you challenge to get the Light burden off the first Turok! All in all it is the gameplay and for under Ten pounds this is a must get!
