Advantages: Cheap, Fun

Disadvantages: Not many levels

I purchased 'Waverace' 64 a couple of years ago from Electronics Boutique, as it was on sale. It cost me a pathetic £12 and was worth every penny.
To pay £12 for such a great game, certainly surprised me, as I thought it was on sale to shift it out of the shop. It certainly surprised me when I played it, as I was expecting a rubbishy, naff, and badly made game. How wrong I was.

The objective of 'Waverace' is, as the name suggests, race on Jetski's, either against the computer or against your mates, if you play multiplayer. There is a stunt mode, which is fun, and a time-trial mode too. The stunt mode objectve is to collect points by doing various stunts, and this is a great feature.

Waverace is a decent game, although it does have a few drawbacks. For example, it has a pretty poor choice of levels, and they do tend to become a little boring after a while. Also, the commentator is very annoying, an his vocabulary seems to consist of 'great' 'maximum power' an 'cool move.' He becomes very tedious after a while, and I was forced to switch the sound off to escape from his dronings. Also, one last drawback is the lack of characters. There are only four, however these can all be customisable to suit the users needs nd handicap.

Now, I will talk about the advantages of Waverace. Firstly, we have to consider that it was one of the first ever games released on the N64, and that the graphics were expected to be quite poor. However, the graphics are awesome, and have some gorgeous water effects, and some nice settings. The water is unpredicatble, and can throw your Jetski into all sorts of peril and dangers. Waverace has some nice backgrounds, such as a sunset, and a night orientated level. These settings look very good for an older game, and really show usthe N64's ability.
There is a lack of level choice, however the levels are all very detailed with numerous shortcuts and secrets.
Waverac
e is a very addictive game, and I would reccommend it to anybody! (Especially if it's going for £12!!)
