Advantages: Good use of license, FUN!!!

Disadvantages: NONE

WWF Wrestlemania is bought to you by THQ who also gave us WWF Smackdown on th playstAtion.

After several lackluster and disappointing WWF games released under the Acclaim label such as WWF Attitude and WWF Warzone, THQ finally makes good use of the copyright by creating the perfect wrestling game.

This game uses the same game engine as WCW/NWO Revenge and WCW World Tour, although there are quite a few differences which set it apart. The character designs seem to have been redone, as the characters look much more realistic. Although they may appear a bit on the cartoonish side, the graphics really bring out the detail of each character. Another big improvement over past games is the increased AI quality. The game is now actually a challenge when set to the Hard difficulty level, which assures longer playability. As far as the actual game controls themselves, everything remains the same, which is definitely a good thing. Simply put, this is the perfect game engine for a wrestling game. Moves can be pulled off with the touch of a button rather than putting in an odd multi-button command to perform the moves you want to see.

Unlike past THQ games, this game is packed full of options. By far the best addition is the Create-A-Wrestler mode. This not only allows you to create real WWF wrestlers not included on the game (you can find several plates for these wrestlers on the internet), but you can also create your own outlandish WWF superstars. The new Career Mode gives the game a much needed focus, and it no longer seems as though you're just wrestling a bunch of guys for no real reason. This mode guides you through the actual career of a WWF superstar, as you start from the bottom and work your way up until you get a shot at the WWF World Title.

However, Wrestlemania 2000 is at it's best when you have a group of friends over to play. The Royal Rumble mode can provide you with hours of fun, as up to four players can all take to
the ring at once. And once someone is eliminated, don't worry, they're provided with a new wrestler to control.

The only problem one could find with this game is the roster of wrestlers. There are several wrestlers who had already left the WWF by the time the game was released, such as Jeff Jarrett and Ken Shamrock. However, this is a very minor complaint at best, and the roster doesn't take away from the game itself at all.

If you're a fan of the WWF, you've most likely got this game already. If not... what are you thinking??? Even non-fans will have fun with this one, as the excellent gameplay make it easy to pick up and nearly impossible to put down. This is the best game ever, and that's the bottom line, therocksays so
