Professor Layton and the Curious Village (DS):
... bought my wife a DS along with the Brain Training game a couple of years ago, as a birthday present, and we really enjoyed the mental stimulation that it gave us. However, we couldn t help thinking that, good as it is, it would have been a lot better if it had some extra level of interest that went with it. Something a bit more appealing to our curious nature. Enter Professor Layton and the Curious Village. When t... Read the full review: Elemntary, my dear Layton...... by pmcds |

Mechanic Master (DS) ... is a mixed bag of a game, hard to describe what category it best applies to, a logic game, but not in the sense of Professor Leighton or Sherlock Homes, but nothing like an action one such as Sims or Mario type games. Mechanic Master, is simple to an extent, but needs logic to get going with it, the first few levels of the game the system gives you hints and tips, which was very useful, as you move through the levels, which in themselves become more difficult, more complex and more inventive. The aim of the game is the simple part, remove or kill the aliens, whether that be altering the screen and aspects of the game, use equipment, both standard and created by you... Professor Layton and the Curious Village (DS) ... Layton and the Curious Village sees the gentlemanly scholar and his young assistant Luke arrive at St. Mystere, an obscure village that hides many secrets and mysteries. The puzzling begins before Layton and Luke even reach the mysterious village, and sets the tone for the rest of the game. Jewel Quest Expeditions (DS) ... bought Jewel Quest Expeditions for 2 reasons, 1) I m addicted to tile-matching puzzles of the nature, and 2) It was quite cheap, at just Ł14. For the first few levels (which were extremely easy, clearly designed just to warm you up!), I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the levels got progressively harder as I worked my way throughout the game. Later on in the game new jewels were added for clearance, jewels became squeezed into tight spots for which it was difficult to match 2 other of the same jewels, and on some worlds, you even had to effectively clear each jewel space twice, or even 3 times before that space could be considered properly cleared. However, I soon got... Read the full review: A real challenge for all fans of tile-switching puzzles by nottellingu |
