... d read a really positive review of this game by another dooyoo member some while back and had kept an eye out for this when browsing the DS games. I find that many a DS game has been disappointing, and now unless it s something that really really appeals I generally only buy once they are in the sale, to cut my losses if it s rubbish (and then they go on ebay.) Tony Hawk's American Sk8land (DS) ... Hawk s American Sk8land is a pretty good game for the Nintendo DS as it s fun to play and contains a whole load of tricks to pull off like all the other Tony Hawk s games. It makes great use of the DS microphone and touch screen for controls and voice chat online. The main story mode as cut scenes, which gives the game a bit of a story although it s pretty poor. You are making your own skate park and as you progress through the different levels such as Los Angeles and other skate parks, you earn money by completing challenges and you can buy more bits for your park. Football Director (DS) ... been a massive fan of championship manager games for the PC, I was often looking out for a version of the same name on the DS. Sadly that never materialised, but a game of similar ilk was released Football Director ! The game was released in 2008 and has a similar set up to most football simulator game formats; you choose a team and are in control of team selection, tactics, transfers, wages etc. I purchased the game for £10 from play.com knowing that I was going away for a few days and would have plenty of time to play the game. Surf's Up (DS) ... review is for the Nintendo DS game, Surf s Up, developed and published by Ubisoft. As the title suggests, the game is a surfing game where you can learn to surf and perform tricks. The Surf s Up game was released across a number of consoles and the PC at a similar time, so this is a very wide release. When this happens, very often developers tend to take short cuts with the game, and tend to focus less on the features and advantages of each console.
