Advantages: Wide variety of units, abilites and terrain make for incredibly diverse tactical gameplay.
Disadvantages: Big battles between multiple players can take an inordinately long time.
The first Advance Wars title to be released on the DS platform. Advance Wars: Dual Strike takes everything that made the first two titles so great and adds new units, buildings, Commanding Officers and tactical powers (including the devestating Dual Strike) all of which combine to make AW: DS perhaps the greatest game of the series.
Several new modes of play such as dual screen battles and the real-time 'Combat' mode keep the replayability value astronomical and provide an often welcome relief from the instensive and high-stakes campaign mode.
Many Commanding Officers (COs) from previous titles make welcome appearances and there are many new faces making their Advance Wars debut. The most noticable of these is a young male CO called Jake who uses far to much hip-hop slang and gains tactical advantages from fighting out in the open.
There is so much additonal content in the form of new maps, modes, COs, costumes for COs, special skills for CO's and even new units to be unlocked that i dare not attempt to list them, the best way would be to paly the game for yourself, you will not be dissapointed.
The multiplayer support is another strong point, easily allowing up to four people to play on one DS or wirelessly on their own machines for some truly epic battles that often involve screaming at your so-called best friends for scuppering your amphibious assuault or capturing a vital factory, it'll be knives out before dawn, a sure sign of exciting multiplayer ;).
Summary: The most fun you can have with your DS over the longest period of time, Turn Based Strategy evolved.
