A full on RTS game arrives to the DS in style. (Age of Empires Mythologies (DS))

Advantages: Real Time/RTS gaming styles. Good game economy. Graphics. Depth is unbelievable

Disadvantages: Sound is a little off. Hard to get into if you are new to the genre

I didn't know what to expect of this game after playing other versions on the PC. I thought it was worth a shot though and am glad I did.

First of all the game isn't your typical strategy game, it uses both turn based and real time styles and merges them together. The location is set in the ancient world where you will experience civilisations from the Greeks and Egyptians. As like before you have to gather local resources which I are able to sell and trade to get what you need to further develop.

You spend your resources on building your civilisation, army which you will need for battle and shrines for the gods. Doing the latter gives you extra powers which might be needed depending on your attacking style.

You really wouldn't expect so much from a DS game, it has a depth that shows the developers really tried hard to make it well rounded and polished game. The single player story mode will take you weeks to complete, and will no doubt cause a lot of frustration along the way.

The graphics are very good for a DS game, it uses both screens well. Using the stylus to issue orders is a breeze and doesn't take any effort. The only thing that can be off putting is that the battles can take some time to finish. It isn't really a game that you can pick up for a few minutes.

Still 4 out of 5. I hope we see more versions on the DS soon.

Summary: A well polished game that the DS needed for this genre. Well worth buying.
