Advantages: Very fun!!! And gets your brain working!!
Disadvantages: Addictive!!!
Big Brain Acadamy is a game for the Nintendo DS, a small handheld device with a touch screen. Big Brain Acadamy (BBA) is much like a childrens Brain Training, you work on each level and get "medals" ranging from Bronze, Silver, Gold right up to Platinum. You get the medals depending on what score you get, and you need to work your way upwards throughout the game, and then you can do "tests", where a number of the games are given to you to do in a test form, and you gain points for each one, and then you get a score at the end (from E-A graded!)
The game is very fun and it gets your brain working, the games which BBA has on it are very addictive, and once you start playing you won't want to stop!!!! Especially when you get your first grade whcih is always a low one!!!!!!! If your anything like me you'll want to keep on working until you get that A!!!!!! I am currently on a B, and I am determined to work my way up to an A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The game has 5 sections: Think, Compute, Analyse, Memorise and Identify. Each section has 3 different games in them...
Here are a few examples of the games!!!
Think: Heavyweight- this is a game which makes you look at a picture of certain items on scales, for example an orange and a dog, and one looks heavier than the other, you have to choose which one is heavier...sounds easy?? It is at first, but then it gets more difficult when the timer starts ticking and you're trying to look at 5 different things oin scales and determine which is heavier on the scales!!!
Memorise: One of the games in this catagory is sounds in a specific order and you have to remember which order the sounds were made in...again sounds easy...! But when the pressure gets more and more it actually gets quite hard!!!
Identify: In this game there are silohettes (sp?) of shapes and you have to match the correct one to the picture...alot of the shapes begin to look the same and as the speed gets faster and faster your brain starts to play tricks on you!!!
Compute: In this catagory there is one game where you need to do fast sums, these are a range of minus, plus, divide and times, and you again have a certain amount of time to get through it!
The game is available from all good game shops and varies in price, starting at about £12 up to around £20 depending on where you shop!
I definitely recommend the game to anyone who likes playing little mind teasers, and playing mini games!! But trust me you really can get very addicted to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Summary: A great little game to add to your collection!

- 23/04/09 Any examples of the actual games and tests involved in Big Brain Academy? This would surely help the consumer more in determining whether to purchase the title... |
