Advantages: Good graphics

Disadvantages: Repetitive

A dog with super powers! Whatever will they think of next. When games comes along that take on movie covers, they are often pretty naff. It seems like the Disney machine turns out a lot of movies and games lately, but not many make it into the 'classics' list. So, when Bolt came to the big screen, we gave it a miss. However, for some reason, when it came to the (very) small screen on the Nintendo DS, my son still wanted it.

Bolt is rated 7+ and is a single player game, though you can wireless connect to play two player mini co-operative games. You play the character Bolt, a dog. With mighty super powers such as laser vision and a sonic bark, you have to work your way through various levels defeating opponents that increase in difficulty. The game is very repetitive and I soon tired of it.

My son rated it slightly better. Loving the simple control method. You can evoke the super powers either with the touch screen or with the Nintendo DS microphone, which is a nice addition. The graphics are pretty good, however the sound is only mediocre. Even though it is aimed at the younger player, my son soon got bored too and only played it about eight times before giving up.

Summary: Not that good really
